Marcello Lippi’s Praise to Matthijs de Ligt

DBasia.news –  The former Juventus coach, Marcello Lippi, gave praise to Ajax Amsterdam defender who was becoming a hot commodity in the player’s transfer market, Matthijs de Ligt.

Not talking about the possibility of De Ligt’s transfer to Juventus, Lippi only described the reasons why the Dutch central defender was selling well for European clubs. The Ajax Amsterdam player has always been the talk of Europe.

“From Nesta to Baresi, from Maldini to (Ciro) Ferrara, from Cannavaro to (Marco) Materazzi, I have seen so many great defenders, but have never seen this (De Ligt) at that age,” said Lippi to Tuttosport.

Lippi also praised De Ligt as a type of defender who can be a differentiator for the club he reinforced, “Yes, he (De Ligt) can be a differentiator,” he continued. Not many defenders can do so.

At present, the type of defender that can be a differentiator for his team are very few, such as: Virgil van Dijk (Liverpool), Sergio Ramos (Real Madrid), Giorgio Chiellini (Juventus), and Thiago Silva (PSG).
