DBasia.news – Rumors of Marcos Rojo’s transfer are still being discussed to this day. The 29-year-old defender was allegedly going to go from Manchester United to Fenerbahce.
Quoted from the Dailymail, Fenebahce wants to borrow the former Sporting Lisbon player for a season. Fenerbahce’s Sport Director, Damien Comolli, is believed to have reached an agreement with the Red Devils to recruit Rojo.
The player with 59 caps and three goals with the Argentine national team indeed became a surplus for United, especially after Harry Maguire arrived. United already have a large stock of players for the center back position, not to mention Phil Jones, Eric Bailly, Chris Smalling, Axel Tuanzebe, and Victor Lindelof.
Rojo wants to find more playing hours in other clubs. He almost moved to Everton before the close of the summer transfer window in England. However, his move was blocked by the Glazer Family, the club owner, as they saw Everton as rivals in England and did not want to strengthen them.
Besides Everton, Rojo was linked with AS Roma until Fenerbahce finally showed their interest. Five years with United, now is the right moment for Rojo to leave in order to continue to find his best performance.
