Massimo Moratti Rejects Milan Duo’s Plan to Unload San Siro

DBasia.news – AC Milan and Inter Milan have reportedly reached an agreement to dismantle San Siro and build a new stadium. San Siro has been used since 1926 and has been renovated for five times.
Maintenance cost savings are said to be one reason why the two clubs have made the decision to replace San Siro with a new stadium rather than doing renovations, after last doing it in the 2015/16 season.
This move has been denied by former Inter owner Massimo Moratti, who considers that the stadium has become part of the history of Milan and does not need to be dismantled to maintain the traditions held in the area and the two clubs that occupy it.
“I feel very sad that they have to think about dismantling San Siro for several reasons. The first is about comfort and convenience for watching matches, watching matches at San Siro is like watching in a cinema. “San Siro is not only a sports facility, but also a part of the history of the city of Milan and all the residents there,” Massimo Moratti said in an interview quoted from Football Italia.
Moratti feels that because Inter and Milan are each owned by two different parties, the two clubs can also have their own stadiums and do not have to use the same stadium so they do not need to dismantle San Siro if they build a new stadium.
