DBasia.news – Tottenham Hotspur will visit Arsenal’s headquarters in the continuation of Week 4 of the Premier League on Sunday (1/9) at 22:30 Western Indonesian Time, in a match titled North London Derby. Mauricio Pochettino’s Spurs are faced with a right-back crisis.
The Lilywhites player’s position in that position has been reduced since Kyle Walker-Peters was injured against Newcastle United last weekend. Allegedly Walker-Peters will miss three or four weeks because of the hamstring.
Tottenham originally had Serge Aurier to play in that position. However, Pochettino is believed not to play because the Ivory Coast defender is in the process of transferring out – reportedly to AC Milan.
Pochettino acted firmly against players who were still in the vortex of the transfer and chose not to play them because their focus could be disrupted because of transfer speculation. Pochettino has shown his assertiveness to Christian Eriksen.
One more name, Kieran Trippier, has moved from Tottenham to Atletico Madrid. As a result, Pochettino’s options at right-back are limited against Unai Emery’s Arsenal.
Some Options to be Played by Mauricio Pochettino
Four names come to the surface to be the right-back option against Arsenal. According to The Telegraph, the four players are Eric Dier, Moussa Sissoko, Jan Vertonghen, and Juan Foyth. The problem is, not all players are fit.
Foyth and Vertonghen are not fully fit to play. Cross out two options, so there is a chance that Pochettino plays Sissoko or Dier. Sissoko has shown that he is a versatile player when playing to replace the injured Walker-Peters.
While Dier has often played as a center back, right, besides the defensive midfielder. There is still time for Pochettino to choose the player he will play as a right-back in the match later.
Tottenham have not won against Arsenal in the last nine years. Plus the condition of the two teams that both lost the previous week, the North London Derby match is predicted to run exciting and decorated with a goal rain.
