DBasia.news – Atletico Madrid, Barcelona, and Real Madrid have become celebrities in the transfer market this summer. However, don’t forget about Sevilla, another Spanish team that is also actively buying players.
Sevilla, who finished sixth in LaLiga last season, have indeed sold Pablo Sarabia, Quincy Promes, Luis Muriel and Gabriel Mercado in the transfer market this summer. But, their sales money was spent efficiently by Monchi, Sevilla Sports Director.
Monchi has become famous throughout Europe as one of the best Sports Directors. The former Sevilla goalkeeper was good at seeing opportunities to recruit talented players at low prices, then sold several players at high prices.
Eight players have arrived at Sevilla and are on a preseason tour. The eight new players are: Jules Kounde (center back), Lucas Ocampos (wing-forward), Diego Carlos (center back), Munas Dabbur (center back), Joan Jordan (center midfielder), Luuk de Jong (striker), Maximilian Wober (center back), and Fernando (defensive midfielder).
The price range issued by Sevilla to recruit them averages between 10 and 15 million euros. So far, the most expensive is Kounde who was recruited from Girondins Bordeaux for 25 million euros.
One other new player is a loan from Real Madrid, namely Sergio Reguilon who plays as a left-back. It doesn’t stop there, according to information from Marca, Monchi will bring in the Porto attack regulator, Oliver Torres.
The 24-year-old has spent two seasons on loan at Porto as an Atletico Madrid player, then sold permanently in 2017. Torres can be a direct substitute for Sarabia in Sevilla.
Reportedly, Torres will join the official price of 12 million euros and sign a five-year contract. Torres will reunite with his former coach in Porto, Lopetegui.
Thus, Sevilla have recruited players whose names are quite popular in Europe and meet the needs of Lopetegui in several areas. De Jong, the striker who last season was the top scorer in the Eredivisie, Fernando, former Manchester City midfielder, and Torres, was the attacker with bright prospects.
