DBasia.news – Amid grief on the search of Emiliano Sala who was lost in the English Channel as he left from Nantes to Cardiff, Wales, both clubs (Nantes and Cardiff) are insensitively quarrelling about the player’s transfer fee.
Previously, Emiliano had been on a plane crash on his way to Cardiff. The Piper Malibu PA-46 plane he travelled in lost contact on January 21st 2019.
After a three day search process, officials has decided to discontinue. But because of strong pressure and help from various sides, Sala’s search process was continued.
Emiliano Sala’s search has come to a bright result. Search teams managed to find the plane wreckage Sala travelled with on the English Channel. Furthermore, there was a single body in the plane.
The progress on Emiliano Sala’s search process has made a new chapter on the transfer process. Reportedly, Nantes has requested Cardiff to pay the 15 million pounds transfer fee. The first pay will be worth 6 million pounds.
According to BBC reports, Cardiff City is well aware of the agreement. But they will first find out Emiliano Sala’s condition.
“I can only say because this is a sensitive matter, it’s true that Cardiff has yet to pay Sala’s transfer purchase.. I honestly do not want to comment on anything regarding that,” says Nantes officials, Mehmet Dalman as reported by L’Equipe.
According to circling news, Cardiff would have to pay the remaining transfer fee one week after the player has signed the contract. “The main reason they have yet to pay is because Sala’s body has not been found. We must respect that,” adds Dalman
“Now, the next process would be to lift the plane. Cardiff would pay when the time is right. I think Cardiff won’t deny that,” he says.
At the moment, the body in the plane wreckage has been successfully removed and is on the way to Portland to be submitted to Dorset Coroner. Meanwhile, the wreckage evacuation process is experiencing problems due to bad weather.
