By news-admin

DBasia.news –  Since being introduced to the 1970 World Cup, yellow cards and red cards have become an important aspect that are inseparable in the rules of football.

In general, the rules of this card are the authority of the referee to punish players who have commited violations violently or behave unsportsmanlike. A yellow card is a warning from the referee and players are still given the opportunity to play.

But if the referee handed out a red card, the player would be immediately kicked out of the playing field. The same rule also applies for players who receives a second yellow card which would automatically become a red card.

Along with the passage of time, then known as a yellow card accumulation. Namely a certain amount of penalties may not compete.

In the Premier League, this rule is a little different. Here are the description.

Like last season, the yellow card received by a player only applies to the competition being played.

So, if for example Virgil Van Dijk receives a yellow card in the Premier League, it will not be counted in other events such as the FA Cup, and Vice versa.

However, the rules are different for red cards. If a player gets a red card, the penalty for a ban would become the consequence applied to all competitions.

Accumulation of Yellow Cards

The penalty for accumulating yellow cards in the Premier League varies from the number of cards and matches.

A player who receives five yellow cards before the match of week 19, will receive a one-game ban.

If the player receives 10 yellow cards before the match of week 32, they would receive a two match ban.

If a total of 15 yellow cards are accepted throughout the season or before week 38, players will be banned from appearing in three matches.

All penalties are only valid in the Premier League.

Red Card Penalty

How many matches are the players banned from if they receive a red card? The length of time for the recipient of the red card also varies depending on the level of violation.

For example, a red card issued due to two yellow cards, players will be banned from playing one match. Similar penalties for red cards due to professional violations.

Players who are red-carded for inappropriate behavior would generally accept a two-match match ban. But if the red card is due to violent conduct, the player will be subject to a three-match suspension.

All of these penalties can still increase or decrease after going through an evaluation or appeal.

New Rules

From the 2019-20 season, referees can give managers and coaching staff yellow and red cards, like players.

If there is chaos on the sidelines and the acting party cannot be identified, the most senior (high) coach of his position automatically becomes the party who receives the card.
