DBasia.news – Mimicking the footsteps of Chelsea and Arsenal this season, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer also took the positive side for Manchester United to play in the Europa League next season.
The hopes of Manchester United in qualifying for the Champions League 2019-2020 has vanished. That certainty was obtained after Paul Pogba and his mates only played 1-1 against Huddersfield. The Red Devils failed to take advantage of 23 opportunities created to take home three points.
With one match remaining, Manchester United will certainly compete in the Europa League. Solskjaer wants to give young players the opportunity to appear at the event.
“Sometimes, you can use the Europa League as something positive. As did Chelsea and Arsenal this season and like we did a few years ago when they won the Europa League,” Solskjaer explained to the Mirror.
“So, you’re talking about smiling. Basically I’m a very optimistic person, so we can make the best use of it such as providing opportunities to play with Tahith Chong, Mason Greenwood and James Garner.”
Solskjaer did not want Manchester United to continue to be sumped “We have to make something positive in the Europa League, no matter what,” Solskjaer said.
Manchester United will close the 2018-2019 season by hosting Cardiff City in the ultimate Premier League match, at Old Trafford Stadium, Sunday (12/5). The Red Devils are one point away from Arsenal who finished fifth.
