Premier League clubs are allowed to conduct trial matches

By db-admin

DBasia.news – English Premier League clubs are permitted to hold trials or friendly matches before returning to play in official competitions.

June 17, 2020 will be the first day the Premier League resumes after being delayed for two months. The Premier League followed in the Bundesliga as one of Europe’s top leagues that started competitions such as LaLiga and Serie A.

There are still discussions to be negotiated at the meeting between shareholders on June 4 and 11, including discussing issues: neutral stadiums, VARs, substitutions, relegation systems and promotions.

According to additional data from the Sky Sports Premier League also allows clubs to play trial matches in preparation for starting the competition again. Of course, with a number of requirements.

Firstly the competition venues must not be more than 90 minutes away from the training center, plus the players must travel in their own vehicles from and when they travel to the venue.

PGMOL referees and their assistants are also tested with the Covid-19 test and for now the club coaching staff will lead the match. But there are still hopes that the matches will be led by top English referees with their records available before the competition begins.

Premier League clubs have also been training again since last week to find fitness and rhythm to resume playing at a competitive level. The Premier League opening match will be two postponed matches between Aston Villa against Sheffield United and Manchester City against Arsenal.
