Premier League Considers a System similar to the World Cup, Five matches per day

Previously, the Premier League decided to postpone the competition until early April 2020. However, the suspension period was extended after the corona virus pandemic widened.

One statement is a matter of how the Premier League ends the competition. Some hope that the competition will continue when the pandemic ends.

One of the problems that arises is a matter of making a new schedule. Although the European Cup and Copa America have been postponed, it is not easy to set a schedule until the competition is over.

Independent reports that the league and Premier League organizers want to restart the competition in early July. Later, the match will not be attended by spectators. In total, there are still 92 matches left.

To overcome this problem, the Premier League organizers are rumored to want to implement the World Cup system. Later, there will be five matches in one day. That way, the competition is believed to be completed within one month, like the World Cup.

However, the problem did not necessarily end. Corona virus is predicted to have not reached its peak in the UK. There is a possibility that the government will go on lockdown for six months.

“In fact, we are already anticipating the number of cases to get worse in the next few weeks, possibly two more weeks. After that, we will see whether the curve can point down,” wrote a local government statement through the deputy head of medical duties.

“That does not mean we will go on lockdown for six months. However, we as a country must be responsible until we slowly return to normal life.”

Currently, Liverpool are at the top of the standings with 82 points. Meanwhile, the second position is occupied by Manchester City who has collected 57 points.
