Premier League Performs another COVID-19 Test, No New Cases

DBasia.news – Good news ahead of the launch of the mid of Premier League this month. From the results of the sixth volume COVID-19 test, no positive cases were found.

Taken from the official Premier League website, the new corona virus test conducted on June 4-5 (Thursday-Friday local time) of 1,195 players and club staff produced a note of no new findings from positive corona virus cases.

“Today’s Premier League can confirm that on Thursday 4 June and Friday 5 June, 1,195 players and club staff were tested for Covid-19. Of these there have been no positive cases,” wrote a statement from the Premier League.

“Premier League provided this aggregate information for the purposes of competition integrity and transparency. There are no specific details regarding the club or individual that will be provided by the league and the results will be made public after each round of testing.”

The data shows a significant development of the test stages carried out since 17-18 May 2020. From the five tests before June 4-5 there were still additional positive cases amounts: 748, 996, 1,008, 1,130 and 1,197.

Previous test results:

– Round 1: May 17-18 – 748 tested, six positive results from three clubs.

– Round 2: May 19-22 – 996 was tested, two positive results from two clubs.

– Round 3: May 25-26 – 1,008 tested, four positive results from two clubs.

– Round 4: May 28-29 – 1,130 tested, zero positive result.

– Round 5: June 1-2 – 1,197 tested, one positive result.

The Premier League will resume on June 17, 2020 by playing two postponed matches, namely: Aston Villa against Sheffield United at Villa Park and Manchester City against Arsenal at Etihad Stadium.
