DBasia.news – An inclusion and equality organization in England, Kick it Out, reported that English football has a significant increase in terms of racism.
Kick it Out reported in the 2017-2018 season, there were 520 racism cases or 53 percent in English football, 22 percent higher than the previous season.
The statistics are compiled from all levels of football in England, including Premier League, Football League, Women’s Super League, and non-league games. The majority of cases were reported done by the fans via social media.
Kick It Out chairman Lord Herman Ouseley admits his disappointment of the data gathered because football should be far from racism actions.
“It is hugely disappointing to have to reveal, yet again, increasing levels of all forms of discriminatory abuse at football,” Lord Herman said.
The racism actions from the supporters often triggered by their disappointment of the team or the unfair match.
Herman added it could be anticipated if the club acts firmly to manage the supporters keep the conducive situation on the pitch otherwise kicked.
Furthermore, FA as the federation also ensures the enforcement of the supporters to the grassroots level to prevent further racism actins in English football.
