Real Madrid Carves a Number of Bad Record

By db-admin

DBasia.news –  Real Madrid lost their first defeat of the season after a 3-0 defeat at the hands of host, Paris Saint-Germain, in the Champions League opener.

But even more disappointing than the crushing defeat was Madrid’s failure to threaten the PSG goal. Yes, although their front lines were reinforced by the trio of Eden Hazard, Gareth Bale and Karim Benzema, Madrid failed to record a single shot on target.

Never before has Madrid failed to open a shot on target in a Champions League match since Opta began counting statistics on this competition in the 2003/04 season.

Another bad note is, this is the first time the Spanish capital club has lost the opening match of the Champions League since 2006 when beaten by Olympique Lyon. Not only that, this is the biggest defeat of Madrid in the Champions League during Zinedine Zidane’s training.

This defeat exacerbated Madrid’s slow start at the start of the season. Zidane and his troops are in third place in the Spanish La Liga standings, with a record of two wins and two draws in the opening four matches.
