Real Madrid Spends 303 Million Euros to Recruit 5 Players

DBasia.news –  The process of overhauling the Real Madrid squad this summer continues. The Los Galacticos volume III project has spent 303 million euros or around Rp 4 trillion to recruit five players.

El Real really went berserk after going through a bad 2018-19 season. Not only changing their coaches three times from Julen Lopetegui until being handled by Zinedine Zidane again, Madrid also won the Club World Cup title.

Not wanting to repeat the same mistake, management overhauled the squad and the media believed that Madrid was running the Los Galacticos volume III project – after starting volume II in 2009, when Florentino Perez became President of Madrid.

The five players recruited by Madrid in the summer are: Rodrygo Goes (Santos), Eder Militao (FC Porto), Luka Jovic (Eintracht Frankfurt), Eden Hazard (Chelsea), and Ferland Mendy (Olympique Lyonnais). Of course the price of Hazard is the most expensive.

Madrid spent 45 million euros to purchase Rodrygo last year – Rodrygo was only able to come this year at the age of 18. Militao has a tag of 50 million euros, then Jovic is 60 million euros, and Mendy is 48 million euros plus variables.

While Hazard was purchased from Chelsea for 100 million euros plus other variables. Jovic and Hazard have been introduced recently by Madrid to the public at the Santiago Bernabeu.

According to the AS, the 303 million euro amount issued by Madrid this summer has exceeded Los Galacticos volume II. Madrid, at that time, spent 258 million euros to recruit Cristiano Ronaldo, Kaka, Karim Benzema, Xabi Alonso, Raul Albiol, Alvaro Negredo, Alvaro Arbeloa and Esteban Granero.

The player’s price inflation, which has skyrocketed at the moment, is the cause of increased spending by Madrid – as well as other European clubs. Madrid have already purchased a lot of players, now they have to sell several players to balance the balance sheet and avoid potential violations from FFP (Financial Fair Play).
