DBasia.news –  Chelsea has succeeded in making Mateo Kovacic’s status permanent after previously being loaned out by Real Madrid. The transfer is somewhat logical if you remember the current condition of the Blues.

Chelsea faced a ban on registering new players after being found guilty of contracting underage players. The Blues are being appealed in a sports arbitration court.

At the same time, Chelsea also needs to strengthen the squad to compete in the 2019-2020 season. In order to not violate the penalty, the Blues chose to bring in Mateo Kovacic from Real Madrid.

“Chelsea are pleased to announce that they have completed Mateo Kovacic’s permanent signing from Real Madrid. The World Cup finalists moved to Stamford Bridge on loan last season and is a regular player in the midfield,” Chelsea explained on the official website.

Reportedly, Chelsea gave out 50 million euros to bring in Kovacic. “Kovacic has signed a five-year contract and will be part of the team in the 2019-2020 season,” said Chelsea.

Kovacic stated that he was very thrilled to stay at Chelsea. The ex-Inter Milan hopes that they can win more titles in the future.

“I really enjoyed the season on loan at Chelsea. I feel comfortable at the club. I really like London and the Premier Laegue. I am happy to be able to join permanently,” Kovacic said.

“We have had a successful year, winning the Europa League. I hope to make a big contribution in the future.”

Meanwhile, Chelsea director, Marina Granovskaia, is optimistic that Kovacic can become an important player. “Kovacic proved how he is a great player during a loan season. We are happy to welcome him to the club permanently,” said Marina Granovskaia.

“He already has extensive experience at club and international levels. I am sure he will be a big success with Chelsea in the next five years,” he continued.

Kovacic’s transfer can be realized without breaking the rules as the player was registered last season, when Chelsea had not been sentenced. A similar case also occurred in the transfer of Christian Pulisic.

Mateo Kovacic meant more as he appeared nealyt in the Chelsea midfield last season. The player played 51 matches and took an important role in the formation of three midfielders in the style of Maurizio Sarri.
