Related to Griezmann, Atletico Will Report Barcelona

DBasia.news – The soap opera of Antoine Griezmann has ended with his decision to stay in Atletico Madrid. He extends his contract until 2023. Barcelona is upset due to the failure of getting the France striker.
And then, will Griezmann decision solve everything? Not really. Atletico seems upset with the former Barcelona high-officials approach. Barca said to the public of their interest to Griezmann. Moreover, Atletico is ready to sue Barcelona to the Real Federación Española de Fútbol (RFEF).
“We have proof of the contacts. There is no doubt that Barcelona have interfered in talks between Atletico and a player (Griezmann) who is under contract,” said Miguel Angel Gil Marin, Atletico Madrid Chief Executive.
“Evidently, that is illegal, and we will weigh up whether or not to report Barcelona to the (Spanish football) federation,” he continued.
Atletico was upset for Barca’s approach to Griezmann since December.
Jordi Mestre, Vice President of Barcelona, rejected the allegation from Atletico. He insisted Barca did the right procedure in approaching the new player.
“As a club, we respect any player’s decision to decide their own future. We had officially informed Atletico Madrid of our interest in the player. Barca wants players who are committed and determined to triumph here, above and beyond any other circumstance,” said Mestre.
The situation is getting worse between Barcelona and Atletico. Moreover, Gil Marin added, Griezmann decision to stay in Atletico is for scoring a history for his club since 2014, not to join Barcelona and be the ‘maid’ for Lionel Messi.
“You do not convince people just with money. We sold him on being important in an ambitious project (at Atletico). At Barcelona, he was going to be a soldier for Leo Messi. It is true that (Messi) is the best player in the world and it is normal that anyone who goes there is to help him build his own story,” added Gil Marin.
“Here, it is the other way around. Here, Antoine can build his history around the history of Atletico Madrid,” he concluded.
