Reportedly Injured, Lionel Messi will play against Real Mallorca
By db-admin
DBasia.news – Catalan club, Barcelona received good news when the manager, Quique Setien revealed that his flagship striker, Lionel Messi is ready to play in the inaugural match against Real Mallorca.
Messi is said to have returned to training with his team-mates following fears that last week he would miss Barcelona’s defense in a number of matches with a quadriceps injury.
Satien earlier said that Messi was “fine” when the 61-year-old coach discussed the physical condition of the 32-year-old player after he was found to be training alone last week.
La Liga is set to resume on Friday after a three-month break due to the corona virus pandemic, with Barca topping and two points ahead of runners-up for Real Madrid in 27 matches.
Blaugrana themselves will face Mallorca on Sunday WIB. Messi is expected to play in the match.
“We have no doubt that he can play against Mallorca,” Setien told Catalunya Radio on Wednesday (10/06).
“There are also other players with problems (injuries). He stopped (practiced) just in case.”
After facing Mallorca, Barcelona will host Leganes three days later before visiting Sevilla on June 19 for the third match in a span of six days.
