DBasia.news – Crystal Palace surprised England football lovers by the 3-2 victory against Manchester City, Sunday (23/12). The result is beneficial for Liverpool regarding the title race.
Manchester City’s defeat makes Liverpool stronger in the top table of Premier League with 48 points. The Reds are 4 points higher than the rival.
Liverpool lead Premier League temporary table with the unbeaten record. The Reds are predicted to win the title since 1990.
However, Crystal Palace manager Roy Hodgson assumed Liverpool won’t be the champion. Hodgson, former The Reds manager, believes that his former team would slip-up.
“I don’t think Pep Guardiola will be too concerned about a four-point gap with 20 games left to play. One of those is going to be against Liverpool,” Roy Hodgson said.
“But even without that game, the chances are that Liverpool will go somewhere and something like this will happen. Someone will beat them against the odds, there is a long way to go yet and there will be an upset somewhere along the line.”
“But I would like to think he will give Crystal Palace a bit of credit for that. His side were able to ask a lot of questions but we managed to come up with the answers,” Roy Hodgson added.
Roy Hodgson handled Liverpool in 2010-2011. Unfortunately, The Reds didn’t achieve anything under the British manager.
