DBasia.news – Real Madrid achieved the 2-0 victory against Sevilla on the 20th-week of LaLiga at Santiago Bernabeu, Saturday (19/1). Two goals from El Real came from Casemiro and Luka Modric.
Thanks to the three additional points, Madrid could fight for the LaLiga title. Plus, Sergio Ramos and friends are still fighting in the Copa del Rey and Champions League. Madrid coach, Santiago Solari, firmly said the team are ready to play in three competitions.
“We’re going to fight for all three competitions until the end. Nothing is impossible for Real Madrid. The three points are always worth more when they come against a direct rival,” Solari said cited by Marca.
Casemiro’s goal in the second half opened Madrid’s dominance. The Brasilian midfielder released the long kick outside the box. Solari admits it as Madrid’s strategy: release as many kicks as possible to Sevilla’s goal.
“We knew that we’d have to find space somehow, as they had been defending well. There was a clear chance for Vinicius in the first half. Then we insisted and insisted until one went in,” Solari concluded.
Madrid are seven points behind Barcelona who would play the 20th-week LaLiga match against Leganes, Monday (21/1). In the upcoming match, Madrid would play against Girona on the first leg of Copa del Rey quarter-final, Friday (25/1).
