Sebastian Giovinco Returns to Italy National Team

DBasia.news – Italy called up the striker Sebastian Giovinco for the first time after three years. Italy coach, Roberto Mancini, announced the squad consists of 28 players for the upcoming matches against Ukraine and Poland.

Giovinco who is currently supporting Toronto FC supported Italy the last time during the qualification round of Europe Cup against Norway on October 2015.

In MLS, Giovinco scored 82 goals from 139 matches in all competitions for Toronto who won the MLS Cup last year.

Mancini also called back the Lazio defender Francesco Acerbi, who joined the squad last time on March 2015. Meanwhile, the striker of Sampdoria Gianluca Caprari also joins the squad for the first time.

Since the appoint to handle the national team on May, the former Inter Milan and Manchester City coach tried hard to improve Italy after the failure in the final round of World Cup this year in Russia.

The four-times world champion will play against Ukraine in the friendly match before visiting Poland to play the Nations League four days later.
