Sir Alex Ferguson Inhibits Manchester United’s Development

Sir Alex Ferguson

DBasia.news –  The former Manchester United manager, Zlatan Ibrahimovic, discussed the latest conditions regarding the condition of his former club. According to him, United will never develop if they continue to think of Sir Alex Ferguson.

The former Red Devils striker in mid-2016-2018 has a unique theory on the United’s struggle in  winning the trophy last few seasons, especially in winning the Premier League title. It all happened because of Sir Alex Ferguson.

Ibra did not speak ill on the former United legendary manager in the mid-1986-2013, but he spoke about the current situation and conditions of Manchester Red which is always compared to Ferguson’s era.

According to Ibrahimovic, such a mindset is not good and only hampers the development of Manchester United. Ferguson had success with United and left a lot of inheritance, but, the era has ended.

The Swedish striker asserted, United in the present should try to carve out their own history without leveraging, comparing it with Ferguson’s era.

“Everything that happened is judged by Ferguson’s  era. They said that if Ferguson was here, this would not happen, Ferguson would not do it like that. Ferguson would do it like this. Everything is Ferguson,” Ibra told Mirror.

“If it were me, I would say I no longer have Ferguson and I came here because I wanted to carve my own history. I want to make my own history. So, I don’t want to hear what happened before.”

“I want to do it now. You come up with a new mentality. Ferguson has his place in the history of the club, but now the club continues. The club must find its own identity and this is challenging,” concluded Ibrahimovic.

Indirectly, Ibra also insinuated the approach taken by Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, Man United’s current manager. The former Solskjaer foster child always talks about Ferguson, invites him to the training session and into the player’s locker room.

Ferguson retired to coach United in 2013. Since then Man United have struggled to fight for the Premier League title and maintain a place in the Champions League zone. Ibrahimovic was previously coached by Jose Mourinho at United and successfully won the Europa League title, League Cup and Community Shield.
