Son Heung-min

DBasia.news –  An exciting match took place in the Champions League quarter-final second leg between Manchester City against Tottenham Hotspur at the Etihad Stadium on Thursday (18/4) early morning Western Jndonesian Time.  Seven goals were created in the match and five of them were created in the first half.

Everything went very fast like a basketball match when Raheem Sterling took Man City ahead in the fourth minute, then Son Heung-min’s two quick goals in the seventh and 10th minute, before Bernardo Silva equalized in the 11th minute and Sterling scored his second in the 21st minute.

“Four goals in the first 11 minutes of Man City vs Tottenham were the fastest four goals that have ever happened in a single Champions League match,” @OptaJoe said.

Two goals from Son have carved a new history in the Champions League.  The 26-year-old South Korean striker has scored 12 goals in the Champions League and passing the record of former Dynamo Kiev star Maksim Shatskikh from Uzbekistan.

Son’s glory also proves that Spurs are not too dependent on Harry Kane who is injured.  Son has scored 20 more goals in all competitions for The Lilywhites this season.

Judging by his playing style and playing position, Son is often referred to as Asia’s “Son-Naldo” or Cristiano Ronaldo. The Ex-Bayer Leverkusen strikers can operate on the wing side as well as central attackers, with the advantage of dribbling the ball and completing opportunities.

Son’s two goals were more special because they helped Tottenham qualify for the Champions League semifinals to challenge Ajax Amsterdam.

Tottenham, in the end, lost 3-4 to Man City via additional goals scored by Sergio Aguero and Fernando Llorente.  Despite losing, Tottenham escaped because of superior aggressiveness on 4-4 away goals after winning 1-0 in the first leg.

Mauricio Pochettino’s side get rid of Pep Guardiola’s team and will challenge Ajax.  While on the other chart, Barcelona will face Liverpool who get rid of FC Porto.
