In this match, Italy had difficulty to score goals. Mancini eventually replaced a number of players, such as Matteo Pessina replacing Nicolo Barella, Manuel Locatelli being replaced by Marco Verratti, Andrea Belotti replacing Ciro Immobile, and Federico Chiesa taking over from Domenico Berardi.

“We know it will be challenging because Austria will not let their opponent be comfortable,” said Mancini as quoted from the official UEFA website.

“Substitutions made the difference for us, but all the players performed well tonight. I am happy because the players gave everything to win, even when they were tired,” he continued.
