DBasia.news – Arsenal successfully reversed aggregate goals 1-3 against Stade Rennais (Rennes) in the last 16 of the Europa League when playing the second leg at Emirates Stadium, Friday (3/15) WIB.
The Gunners won by a landslide score of 3-0 through goals scored by Ainsley Maitland Nilles and brace Pierre Emerick-Aubameyang in the fifth and 72nd minutes. Unai Emery’s squad also successfully qualified for the next round with a 4-3 aggregate goal .
Aubameyang was really in the spotlight in the match, not only because of the two goals he scored against goalkeeper Tomas Koulbek, but also the celebration he did. The Gabonese player celebrated his goal by using the mask of one of Marvel’s superhero characters, Black Panther.
Not wanting to make the public curious for long regarding the purpose of the celebration he did, the former AC Milan player finally spoke up on the matter.
“I need a mask that truly represents me. Black Panther is perfect. The Gabon national team is also called the Black Panthers,” said Aubameyang as reported by Mirror.
Arsenal’s victory over Rennes also made the English team really triumph in the 2018/19 European competition, besides Chelsea who also successfully advanced to the Europa League quarter-finals, four other teams, namely Manchester United, Tottenham Hotspur, Manchester City and Liverpool have already qualified for the quarter-finals of the Champions League.
The celebration using masks is indeed the first time for Auba since deciding to try his luck in England, but previously he had done the same celebration at Borussia Dortmund. At that time he did it at the Revierderby counter, one of his eternal rivals, Schalke.
