Three Candidates of 2018 Europe Best Player

By news-admin

DBasia.news – UEFA, the Union of European Football Associations announced the top three candidates of 2018 Europe best player. Interestingly, from the three names, the winner of 5 Ballon d’Or Argentinian player Lionel Messi wasn’t mentioned.

Reported on UEFA’s official website, the three candidates are Mohamed Salah, Cristiano Ronaldo, and Luka Modric. Each represents Liverpool, Juventus, and Real Madrid (though the fact Ronaldo was chosen for his bright record last season with Madrid).

Messi’s absence on the list seems normal because last season La Pulga couldn’t bring Barcelona stayed in the Champions League and also failed to deliver Argentine to the round of 16 in 2018 World Cup. Messi just won the LaLiga and Copa del Rey with Barcelona.

While Ronaldo and Modric succeeded to bring Madrid winning the Champions League for the third consecutive times, means the 13th Champions League titles. Ronaldo became the Champions League top scorer for the sixth times and won it five times (also one with Manchester United).

The same thing happened to Modric. The 32-year-old midfielder also brought the Croatia national team to break the record by passing until the final round of 2018 World Cup. While for Salah, the wing striker of Egypt brought The Reds passed the Champions League since the last time in 2007. In his debut season since leaving Roma, Salah also broke many records in Liverpool.
