DBasia.news – Harry Kane, Tottenham Hotspur striker, was upset with the referee’s decision when his team competed against Newcastle United. Kane was upset because his team was not awarded a penalty.
Tottenham started the 2019-2020 Premier League with less than optimal results. Mauricio Pochettino’s club was defeated when facing Newcastle in the third week of the match Sunday (8/25).
In fact, Tottenham played in front of their supporters at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. However, Joelinton’s goal in the 47th minute silenced the home supporters.
Indeed Tottenham can equalize before the fight was over. That was after Harry Kane was dropped in the forbidden box by Newcastle defender Jamaal Lascelles.
Unfortunately, the referee in charge did not give a penalty for Tottenham. Harry Kane who became a victim also expressed his disappointment to the court.
“I find it difficult to understand why the penalty was not given to us. Like when the goalkeeper uses his hand to violate you, it is a penalty,” said Harry Kane.
“I was violated by him (Jamaal Lascelles) by hand and then his body. Whether it was intentional or not, from my point of view, it was difficult not to get a penalty.”
“The referee said he did not see, but this is the point of VAR. When the referee said there was no penalty and VAR said it was 50-50, Andan could not refute it,” continued Harry Kane.
These results make Tottenham stuck in seventh in the 2019-2020 Premier League standings. The Lilywhites won four points from each win, draw and lose.
