Tuchel Has Predicted Chelsea Will Lose for Unable to Give Maximum Performance

By db-admin

DBasia.news – RChelsea manager, Thomas Tuchel can only lament the failure of his team to achieve full points at home to Brighton & Hove Albion. This kind of outcome turned out to be what he had predicted beforehand.

The continuation of the Premier League 2021-2022 which took place at Stamford Bridge, Thursday (30/12), ended in a 1-1 draw. Romelu Lukaku’s goal was answered by Danny Welbeck in injury time.

This draw is certainly quite surprising. Chelsea is indeed more favored because it appears at home.

But Chelsea’s preparations for this match were plagued by a player crisis. Many Blues stars are recovering from injuries and COVID-19.

This condition made Tuchel aware that his team’s performance could not be optimal. Chelsea even lost in terms of possession and number of shots on goal.

“Obviously we will struggle because we have too many players who we don’t know what we can demand. We have a long list of injuries and some are recovering from COVID, so I don’t know what they can do,” Tuchel said after the game.

“I told you what was going to happen a few weeks ago. If you’re in bed for 10 days and then play a Premier League game, you’re going to be tired.

Even so, Tuchel still had time to praise Brighton. Graham Potter’s team seemed to know very well how to take advantage of Chelsea’s weaknesses.

“We knew beforehand that it would be a difficult game against a strong team. They came well prepared,” he added.

“I’ve never seen a team play such a good game against them (Brighton).”
