DBasia.news – A court in Moscow has sentenced two Russian international soccer players, Alexander Kokorin and Pavel Mamayev, to prison for their involvement in last year’s persecution.
Kokorin was sentenced to 18 months in prison, while Mamayev was sentenced for 17 months after going through a series of trials that were quite interesting to the public. Kokorin plans to do an appeal.
Kokorin and Mamayev, who had played for top Russian clubs and the national team, were locked up since October last year after being drunk and torturing two government employees, including a trade ministry official and getting into a fight with a driver from a television presenter.
Both of them asked for a sentence of relief and apologized along with the fans’ plea to the authorities to not destroy their football careers.
