DBasia.news –  The application of video recording technology (VAR) in all stadiums that held the first leg of the Champions League top 16 went perfectly according to UEFA President Roberto Rosetti.

“I’m happy with the way VAR is applied,” Rosetti said.

“Technology is running perfectly and the referee team can work at a very high level,” he said.

The most highlighted thing in the decision involving VAR technology was the annulling of Ajax’s goal against Real Madrid as Dusan Tadic was in an offside position when Nicolas Tagliafico headed a ball that could not be driven away by goalkeeper, Thibaut Courtois.

UEFA supports the decision to annul the goal, but what remains to be the question is the length of time needed before making a decision.

Regarding this, Rosetti promises to make improvements for the system to run more effectively.

“The most important thing is, the referee makes the right decision. Accuracy is more important than speed,” he confirmed.
