UEFA President Don’t Want VAR in Champions League

DBasia.news – UEFA president Aleksander Ceferin refused the chance to use VAR technology in 2018-2019 Champions League. Ceferin said he isn’t interested yet with VAR.
In recent weeks, the discussion about VAR in Champions League was trending. Moreover, there was an issue that VAR will be used in the quarter-final.
The issue was supported by UEFA who adored the use of VAR in the 2018 World Cup. Consequently, the plan is getting intense.
However, Ceferin refused the possibility. He thinks, UEFA decided to not use VAR in the near future.
“We haven’t talked about it and I’m still not convinced about VAR. There are still things that need clearing up. The fans don’t understand it, neither do the journalists,” Ceferin told Ekipa.
“I told Roberto Rosetti: ‘When we’re ready.’ We’ll have to adopt it one day because we’re playing all over Europe and the Champions League isn’t just a tournament.”
“We also need regulation. Look at the World Cup assistants who did nothing, other than just waiting around,” the UEFA president continued.
The request to use VAR in the Champions League has raised since last season. Since then, there were some accidents inflicting one team.
