Unai Emery Isn’t Satisfied by Ozil’s Performance

DBasia.news – For the very first time, Arsenal got two consecutive defeats at the beginning of the Premier League since 1992. This season, The Gunners defeated twice from Manchester City (0-2) and Chelsea (2-3). Recently, they got the defeat at Stamford Bridge.

Actually, Arsenal made many opportunities considering Chelsea’s average defense. However, many chances wasted and they just scored two goals from Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Alex Iwobi. While Chelsea were performing clinically by the goal from Pedro Rodriguez, Alvaro Morata, and Marcos Alonso.

In Arsenal’s two initial matches, Mesut Ozil didn’t perform as expected. He just touched the ball 29 times. For an attacking midfielder, he should be more active in every team’s attack process, and 29 was too little.

Aaron Ramsey replaced Ozil at 67′. Arsenal manager Unai Emery said Ozil’s performance wasn’t optimal. However, he put the expectation to the 29-year-old player to the next matches.

“Today I’m happy with (Ozil) because he worked. I decided to change because, in the middle, we needed a bit more to push and not let Chelsea progress easily with the ball,” Emery explained reported by Standard Sports.

“But I’m happy with Mesut. We are going to do with him the same work and helping him, demanding also work every day. But, at the moment, he is doing that and I’m happy,” he continued.

Ozil could try to show his great talent in the third week of Premier League during the London derby against West Ham United at Emirates Stadium on Saturday (25/8).
