Vinicius Jr, the Most Expensive Player Playing for Real Madrid in Segunda B
By news-admin
DBasia.news – Real Madrid is officially introducing Vincius Jr. to the supporters. He was bought on July and will join Los Blancos during the 2018/2019 season.
Since the beginning, Real Madrid wants to play Vinicius along with the main squad and also B team (Castilla) who is currently playing in Segunda B division. Vinicius will strengthen the B team if he doesn’t play in the main squad.
This is the first time a 45 million euro player plays in Segunda B, the third class competition in Spain, throughout the history.
The playing situation in main squad and B was actually experienced by Alvaro Morata and Nacho when Real Madrid was under Jose Mourinho, 2012-2013. Both of them played with the B team if didn’t play with the main squad.
Morata played 18 times (1.616 minutes) and scored 12 goals for Castilla. While in the main squad, he played 15 times and scored 2 goals.
But at that time, Real Madrid B was still playing in Segunda Division, just below Primera Division. Now, Castilla is performing in Segunda B with a different challenge.
“The Segunda B is a difficult division. With a lot of difficult teams and pitches that are often poor,” said Martin Odegaard, Madrid player who once played in Segunda B with Castilla.
Actually, Real Madrid plan to play Vinicius in a competition with quality below the first class division is too risky. In Segunda B, Vinicius will get bad treatment from the opponent and will play in the poor field.
However, Real Madrid believed it’s important for Vinicius to play when he’s not in the main squad, even if for Segunda B.
That’s why Santigo Salori, Castilla team coach, is really needed to keep Vinicius motivation, which is only 18.
