Zapata Says He Still Has Developing Space
By db-admin
DBasia.news – Atalanta striker Duvan Zapata said that he played the best football of his career, “I still have a lot of room for improvement.”
Atalanta faces Shakhtar Donetsk in their second Champions League match tomorrow, looking to make amends for the capitulation of their opening day at the hands of Dinamo Zagreb.
“We are preparing for this match like the match in Zagreb,” Zapata said at a press conference.
“We hope to develop our game well. This will be a difficult match. I think we have shown in the League that we have the right mentality to play at the highest level.”
“I think this situation is the result of work and consistency for two seasons. I have to be different in pre-season than I did last year and now I try to make the best use of it.”
“I saw the match in Zagreb back on TV, but they have a great goalkeeper. Now we have to think about tomorrow. We have to play well and take all the opportunities we get.”
The Colombian is 30 years old in less than two years but has taken it from where he left last season, scoring five goals in seven matches.
“So far, yes, but I still have a lot of room for improvement. I’m not on top, every day I work to improve myself,” he answered when asked if he was on the best track of his career.
“Thanks to the coach, he has the patience to wait for me. I understand all the new concepts made for me, plus I have worked hard.”
